"Big Baby here! Moved from NV and went in to see Dr Toms based on his excellent reviews. He not only was able to do what I wanted..(previous dentist said it couldnt be done) which was a huge self esteem boost, but also caters to extreme anxiety/pain babies like me. Now, I actually get excited to go to the dentist!!! His staff is so sweet and accomodating! Dr Toms, you are my new hero!!!"- T.C. / Google / Nov 10, 2022

"Excellent dentist. If you are looking for a dentist he is the best. His staff is friendly. Wait time is short. We always receive the best care. I highly recommend him without hesitation."- J.R. / Google / Oct 08, 2022
"Dr. Toms must have been at the top of his class b/c not only is his work perfect (and as painless as one can expect dentistry to be), but he works fast! In my early 20s I did not take care of my teeth as I should've and ended up needing several root canals (hard lesson learned!). I went to several other dentist before finding Dr. Toms and what took other dentists 3-4 HOURS to perform, he manages to finish within 45 min. Even when he was out of network for me, I always went to Dr. Toms. The only reason I don't still, is that I left Georgia. It should also be mentioned that his staff is top notch. Always friendly and helpful. They have always exceeded my customer service expectations. Someone else mentioned they've been seeing Dr. Toms for 20 years, and I was like, he can't possibly have been in business that long, he's not that old! And then I realized my 18 year old son has never seen another dentist, so.... yeah."- T.V. / Google / Aug 02, 2022
Best Candidates for Dental Implants
Dental implants can restore a missing tooth or teeth with an implant-support crown, bridge, or denture. You may want to consider a dental implant if you currently have a regular dental restoration, but are unhappy with the appearance, feel, or if there is a special cleaning needed. Implants can be cleaned like your natural teeth with daily flossing and brushing. During your consultation, Dr. Toms will evaluate the health of your jawbone and gums in order to determine if a dental implant is the right option. In some cases, a bone or gum graft surgery may be needed prior to implant surgery to ensure you have a strong enough foundation to support the post. You may not be a candidate for dental implants if you use tobacco products, are pregnant, or are currently being treated for an oral condition like gum disease.
What To Expect
To prepare for your dental implants, you may have teeth extracted, gum grafts, or bone grafts first. Once you are ready for the dental implant, the needed areas will be given local anesthesia to numb your mouth. Intravenous or oral-conscious sedation techniques may be added to help you feel more comfortable throughout the procedure. Dr. Toms will make an incision in your gum and put the titanium post in the jawbone. The incision in the gums will be closed with part of the post above the gumline. This will be repeated if several implants are required. While the dental implant integrates into the bone and gum over the next few months, a temporary cover will be used to protect the post. As soon as Dr. Toms decides your implant is strong enough, your restoration (crown, bridge, or denture) can be connected to your implant and adjusted for a good fit.
You may have some short-term inflammation in your mouth and lower face, plus discomfort, bruising, and minor bleeding after your implant procedure. Dr. Toms will let you know what is to be expected and what should be reported to our office. He may also prescribe pain relievers and antibiotics. Once your dental implants are integrated and your custom restoration is connected, you should follow a good oral care routine at home that includes brushing, flossing, and mouthwash. You should continue to schedule an annual exam and bi-annual professional cleanings at Patrick B. Toms, D.M.D. so Dr. Toms can assess your oral health. He will let you know if your restorations or implants should be adjusted or replaced.
Based on your dental insurance company and specific coverage, some of the expenses of your dental implant and custom restoration might be covered. We will talk to your insurance provider to understand your benefits and determine your costs. During your consultation with Dr. Toms, he can estimate your expenses. We do have low-interest financing through CareCredit®, and we do accept most major credit cards.
